Hot Degrees and More
If you look at Alabe.com’s Hot Degrees page for 2020, you will notice that, in addition to the Vernal Equinox, we have several other events coming, happening within a few days of each other.
Vernal Equinox and Aries New Moon
The Vernal Equinox, itself, is “early” this year (from the perspective of Western calendars) on March 19th in some time zones and the early part of March 20th in others. Since we are in a leap year, that makes sense. A New Moon (in Aries) follows Tuesday, March 24th.
Other Aspects During this Window
Between the two, we have (1) Mars conjunct Jupiter (Capricorn) early on March 20th, maybe eight hours later (effectively at the same time), (2) Saturn enters Aquarius late on March 21st (and touching a point it will return to for the “Great Conjunction” on December 21stof this year), and (3) Mars conjunct Pluto (also in Capricorn) on March 23rd, a mere two days later (which is nothing given that Mars has a two year orbit and Pluto a two hundred and forty year orbit).
Instability: Mars, Jupiter, and Pluto Conjoin
Mars is traditionally called the “Lesser Malefic,” and Saturn is called the “Greater Malefic.” Pluto was discovered much later and not available to the ancients. In modern Astrology, Pluto is associated with “radical transformation” (such as the kind that a nuclear weapon provides when detonated). Mars, Jupiter, and Pluto are square the Sun (and Moon) by sign, providing MUCH instability.
Hot Degrees: Possible Skirmish, Maybe War
Given the instability in the world with the Novel Coronavirus from Wuhan, China, also called Covid19, and the reaction (which appears to be a panic that may, or may not, be necessary), these combinations of aspects could easily launch a skirmish (i.e. something like the “Seven Day War”) or even a larger conflict (up to, and including, a full scale, traditional “war”). Conventional warfare has become increasingly scarce (with third world countries using terrorism and developed nations waging “cold” wars), but it is not gone.
Compared to Vernal Equinox 2010
While I have not cast a chart, yet, I would not be surprised if we had a spring similar to that of 2010, with a number of catastrophes leading up to the Deepwater Horizon disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.
I have written about similar Vernal Equinox (and New Moon) patterns in the past: (1) Vernal Equinox 2010: A Bad Moon a Risin’; and (2) Algol New Moon: Waco Biker Shootout
This seems like a good time to be extraordinarily prudent and lay low.
Spring is Coming: Stop and Smell the Roses
That said, life becomes gray indeed without a bit of fun along the way. Stop and smell the roses, and take pictures of them too. Modern computer software can convert them to line art. Give that to your children or someone’s children for drawing and coloring.
Stay tuned. We have more to say.
